Dementia Awareness Training for Artists
Are you an artist or creative based in Scotland and seeking some more knowledge around dementia and creative activities? Maybe you are at the beginning of your journey working with older people living with dementia and would like some support on how to be more inclusive?
Join Luminate and Age Scotland’s Dementia Training team for a free training session, to boost your awareness and knowledge of dementia and how creative activities can be beneficial and inclusive.
Our interactive training will look at:
- How to understand the signs and symptoms of dementia
- How to communicate better with people living with dementia
- How creativity and imagination can benefit people living with dementia
- How best to include and support people living with dementia in creative activities
The training will take place via Zoom and joining instructions will be sent to you in advance of the session.
Training is free and sessions are limited to 16 participants. If you are an employee of a cultural organisation, please note that we can only offer one place per organisation.
If you have attended a dementia awareness training session before and would like more in depth discussion and ideas around your dementia focused work as an artist, then our second training session Leading Dementia Inclusive Creative Activities on Monday 2nd June may be more suitable for you.
If you have any questions about the session, please email Lottie Brook on info@luminatescotland.org.
