Men Don’t Talk
A new play written by Clare Prenton and performed by Scottish acting stalwart Billy Mack, Dougal Lee, and Greg Powrie is touring Scotland this October.
Men Don’t Talk explores masculinity, mental health, and Men’s Sheds and is inspired by real men’s stories following cups of tea, cake, and spirited conversations between the writer and real ‘shedders’ who participate in community workshops hosted by the Scottish Men’s Shed Associations (SMSA). The production will invite audiences into a fictional men’s shed to address the importance of men coming together to talk about their emotions, feelings, trials, and tribulations to promote positive masculinity.
Men Don’t Talk is funded by The National Lottery through Creative Scotland’s Touring Fund as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival. Produced by Genesis Theatre Productions and supported by An Tobar & Mull, the Men’s Shed Association, and Luminate.
Touring Scottish theatres from Friday, 18 October to Tuesday, 19 November 2024.
