Christabel started her career as a Stage Manager working around the UK and internationally on new plays, opera and pantomimes.
She moved back to Edinburgh in 2009 to take up the job as Head of Participant Services at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, looking after the people who make the world’s largest arts festival happen.
Christabel then managed the Culture Counts campaign, advocating for the importance of culture in Scotland, alongside work with international team at Festivals Edinburgh. She joined Luminate as General Manager in 2018 and also works as a live theatre captioner, helping to make plays more accessible.
Her work at Luminate combines an enjoyment of administration and numbers with a belief in the power of the arts and a hope that everyone can access the benefits.
