Nigel Ashworth is a writer and director in Edinburgh. His bursary allowed him to work on a professional production for A Play, a Pie and a Pint in Glasgow, assisting Mark Thomson, former Artistic Director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre. The intensive rehearsal process gave him a great understanding of production processes (staging, set design and props) and insight into the culture of a professional rehearsal room.
Nigel also had a second mentoring session with playwright and director Tim Crouch, who had reviewed his writing before the session. The cumulative effect of all Nigel’s mentoring opportunities and other related activity has enhanced his skills and knowledge as well as providing valuable industry contacts.
“This bursary opened up extra opportunities, which have greatly enhanced my skills and provided valuable industry contacts.”
