Creative Writing Project – Putting pen to paper to try creative writing, storytelling and spoken word techniques.
What to expect: Enjoyable, relaxed and fun sessions exploring the written and spoken word. Have you always wanted to write your life story but don’t know where to begin? Or you have read a good book and thought you would like to try it yourself? Or maybe you’re a poet, but don’t know it (yet).
Join playwright and poet Martin O’Connor who will guide you through a variety of creative writing approaches, where you will learn essential skills to start putting pen to paper. You will explore poetry, short story, prose and biographical writing and learn how to apply these to your own ideas. We’ll work towards a final session where we can share what we have written to each other, building confidence in our voices. You will also have the chance to discuss and reflect on what you learn with others, with ongoing mutual feedback and support.
