Artists’ Support Programme Evaluation

2 August 2022

Luminate provides training and support for artists involved in creative ageing practice. From work we had been doing across 2020 and 2021, the pressures and uncertainties that artists were facing because of COVID-19 had become very clear.  With the arrival of the Omicron variant at the end of 2021, this situation was clearly going to continue for a while.

We therefore invited Nicola Naismith (an artist, researcher and mentor specialising in the support needs of creative practitioners working in participatory arts) to design and facilitate a pilot support programme for participatory artists. Peer learning was a key focus of the programme, and an introduction to coaching skills was included. The programme ran from January to May 2022.

We commissioned Culture Radar to evaluate the programme, and the report is available here.  Learning from the pilot will inform our future planning.
