Luminate at Healing Arts Scotland – Dumfries & Galloway Day
We’re pleased to be taking part in Healing Arts Scotland Dumfries & Galloway Day, hosted by OutPost Arts on Tuesday, 16th June.
The event will bring together artists, health professionals, community groups and the wider public. It aims to share experiences, spark collaboration and explore how creative approaches can support health and wellbeing. The event is free to attend with donations welcome.
Our Director, Anne Gallacher, will be presenting a spotlight talk as part of the conference at Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries. She’ll also be taking part in a panel discussion on the subject of ‘Music & Creativity Across Life Stages’.
In addition to talks, discussions and creative wellbeing activities, the programme will feature newly commissioned work by regional artists, Jim Buchanan and Heather Bestel.
Healing Arts Scotland is a bi-annual celebration of the role of the arts to improve health and wellbeing. It’s part of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab’s global outreach campaign in collaboration with the World Health Organization.
This year there will be a wide range of events happening across Scotland from Monday, 15th to Friday, 19th June. This includes dedicated days of activity in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh & Lothians and Glasgow.
