Hayley joined Luminate in June 2026. She has worked as a community theatre maker since 2009, creating and managing project across a wide variety of communities.
Her dissertation for an MA in Applied Theatre asked what the benefits were for older, socially isolated people who were involved in reminiscence theatre. This study and her work with other groups brought an understanding of the benefits that being creative can have. It also sparked a passion to create spaces where people who are socially isolated come together.
Hayley has worked in schools, drop-in centres, theatres, prisons and support groups. Her aim in these settings is always to create a safe place where those attending can be creative, tell stories and have fun, and in doing so feel a sense of belonging and purpose. Recent projects include working with Fife Women’s Aid, Alzheimer Scotland in Perth and Dundee Rep’s over 55 groups.
In her spare time Hayley is an avid reader; she also crochets and runs.
