Share and Connect: Older Men and Creative Ageing
Join us in Perth for a knowledge sharing and discussion event exploring older men’s engagement with creativity.
Preceded by a networking lunch, the afternoon will include presentations from:
- The Wise Guys, Highland Print Studio’s print-making programme for older men
- Open Book, a Scotland-wide reading and creative writing organisation
- Westerton Male Voice Choir, from Bearsden.
The afternoon will be chaired by Jim Tough, and there will be plenty of time for discussion.
Background and what to expect
This event has been generously funded by The Baring Foundation and is informed by their recent report, Missing Out: Creative Ageing and Men – The Baring Foundation.
The event will bring together older men, freelance artists, community arts practitioners, and organisations who work with – or plan to work with – older men.
It’s an opportunity for connection, knowledge sharing, and network building among those interested in how creative ageing can be made more accessible and engaging for older men.
Our speakers will discuss what has gone well in their work with older men, as well as sharing what the challenges have been. They’ll also talk about what they’ve learned.
This event would be of particular interest to freelance artists, representatives from cultural, arts, or community organisations, and/or people whose work involves supporting older people.
