Anne has been Director of Luminate since the first Luminate Festival was launched. Originally from Edinburgh, Anne moved to Birmingham in the early 90s to join Birmingham City Council’s arts team.  She went on to hold posts with West Midlands Arts, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Watford Palace Theatre, and has worked as a consultant with organisations including Arts Council England, The Reading Agency and A New Direction. In 2005 she was awarded a Clore Leadership Fellowship.

Anne moved back to Scotland to take up her role with Luminate in 2012. She is passionate about the positive impacts that arts and creativity can have on people’s lives, and her career has been driven by a commitment to enable artists and communities to come together and collaborate.

Away from Luminate, Anne is Chair of the Board of All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre where she is constantly inspired by performers who fly. She is also a Trustee of the Eric Liddell Community in Edinburgh.  Anne has sung in choirs since her teens, and is a member of the SCO Chorus.
