About Elena
Based in Scotland and in her 50s, Elena is in the early stages of her creative practice. Her focus is mainly on designing and producing 3D visual art, with a particular interest in jewellery crafting, silversmithing, and ceramics. Elena informally started to train in metalwork skills such as etching, piercing, texturing, wax-forming and basic enamelling processes, post-covid. She is keen to add further colour and vibrancy in her work to enhance the story-telling aspects through advanced enamelling technique exploration, practice and development.
Bursary Summary
To train and experiment with advanced enamelling techniques such as Cloisonné, Plique-à-Jour and image-transfer. This will allow me to expand my design capabilities and incorporate vibrant colour and pattern-use in my creations in jewellery and metalwork.
