
About Gail (age 50)
Gail Sneddon is 50 and an award-winning artist and choreographer based in Moray, known for creating immersive, site-responsive performances and video works that amplify community voices. Her work blends movement, sound, and visual storytelling to craft otherworldly experiences where dystopia, escapism, and wonder collide.
A graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire (1997) and Central Saint Martins (MA Scenography, 2002), she has performed with Nigel Charnock, Athina Vahla, and Ersatz. She has collaborated with leading artists and companies in various roles, including co-director and video designer for Ménage à Trois with Claire Cunningham and National Theatre Scotland, which earned international acclaim and a CATS Award. She also worked as movement director and video designer on Interference (dir. Cora Bissett, NTS) and as company manager for Rosemary Lee’s Threaded Fine, to name but a few.
Committed to dance sector development for over 15 years, Gail has held leadership roles at The Beacon Arts Centre, Dance North Scotland, and Barrowland Ballet, where she worked as a producer, director, and facilitator. She has recently shifted to being an independent artist, focusing solely on creating her own site-based work.
