Qualifying as a CA more years ago than he likes to admit to, Iain worked in industry as Finance Director of several well known Scottish brand names including Slumberdown, Edinburgh Crystal and Drambuie, and a large vegetable grower supplying major supermarkets throughout the UK. He joined Capital Theatres, who run the Festival and King’s Theatres in Edinburgh, in 2010, retiring in July 2021. In addition to financial operations, he had responsibility for HR, quality assurance and Health & Safety with each of his employers.
He is a member of Selkirk Rugby Club and The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, and spent ten years as the treasurer of the Scottish branch of the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Since retiring he has been appointed to the boards of the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival and Magnetic North.
