About Jennifer (age 55)
Jennifer is a writer whose day job is in Financial Services which pays those ‘pesky bills’ however she wishes she had followed the writing dream when she was age 18. That said, she appreciates that starting at 50 was better than never, and now at the age of 55, it’s numbers by day .. narratives by night… In the last 5 years, Jennifer has written and performed a show at Edinburgh Fringe; and wrote Queenagers a show for Scary Little Girls, that performed two sell-out tours across Cornwall.  She has also written a funny blog on menopause that amassed 47K followers and, as a result, was hired by Penguin Random House to ghost-write a book on the menopause.  Playwriting is her dream though – as Jennifer feels that seeing people act and say your words on stage – is a pure adrenalin rush.

Bursary Summary
I am currently writing a play titled Rank Outsider which follows the life of Megan Holmes in 1992 as she is interrogated, then discharged from the Navy for being gay.  This bursary will allow me to receive mentoring to come up with a final version of the play
