Lorna Campbell Printmaking

About Lorna (age 65)
Lorna is a visual artist based in Inverness and working mainly in socially engaged practice. She graduated in 2016 in Fine Arts (Hons) BA from UHI Moray.
Lorna’s creative practice has focussed on printmaking, bookmaking, stop-frame and moving-image, and installation. Over the last 10 years, her experience as a socially engaged artist has been in a range of community and care settings in Highland, most often supporting adults living with dementia or long-term mental health issues. Lorna has worked within artists’ teams with Creativity in Care in Easter Ross, Dolphin Arts in Ullapool, Luminate ‘Arts in Care’ pilot on the west coast, and Openarts in Inverness.

Lorna is a founder and active member of Circus Artspace, established in 2019. This artist-led collective works to build broader access to contemporary visual arts across the Scottish Highlands using its core principles of collaboration, conversation and supporting emergent practice.

Bursary Summary
My bursary project will explore the theme of recovery and healing, particularly the role of creativity and nature in contributing to this. Conversational walks with selected artists, in the outdoor spaces where they work, will inform my reconnection and experimentation with printmaking and the development of a series of prints.
