New short film with The Lyceum

20 May 2026

We’re pleased to launch our latest short film celebrating lifelong learning. It shares the experiences of the Adult 60+ Acting Group at the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh.

The film includes interviews with group participants, as well as the workshop leader and Artistic Director.

“Older people have every right to have access to really high quality arts opportunities… not just seeing shows, but also to explore creativity in themselves.”

James Brining, Artistic Director & Chief Executive, The Lyceum

The 60+ Acting Group at The Lyceum provides an opportunity for theatre lovers to come together, explore their passion and enjoy practical workshops. Sessions include script work, devising, and practical theatre exercises.

This new film shares some of the reasons why we believe creative learning is important as we get older. It is aimed at those interested in joining, or leading, a class in their local area.

Watch the film in full in the Resources section of our website.

“Just because you’re over 60 doesn’t mean you can’t start and have a whole new interest and a whole new life.”

Mairi Gaffney, workshop participant
